The Can Ruti Campus and the healthcare and research teams of the different institutions that comprise it continue to prove, once again this year, to be a relevant node on a global scale in terms of scientific production and progress. In this regard, nearly thirty recognised professionals from the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC), the Hospital and the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP), the Foundation for the Fight Against Infections and the IrsiCaixa AIDS Research Institute have been included in a global list of scientists who achieve a greater impact through their publications and citations.

This is the latest and most recent update of the Scopus database by Elsevier, a global publisher in the field of Medicine and Health Sciences. The list includes approximately 200,000 authors, accounting for 2% of the world's scientific workforce, who are recognised in two rankings: for their entire scientific career and for their impact in the past year.

In terms of their entire careers, the list includes the following researchers of the Josep Carreras Institute: the Director Manel Esteller and the Group Leaders Josep Maria Ribera, Esteban Ballestar, Montse Sánchez-Cespedes, Enric Carreras and Fumiichiro Yamamoto, besides the scientific founder of the Institute, Ciril Rozman. In terms of the influence of their work during 2022, the list repeats some of these names – Esteller, Sanchez-Cespedes, Ballestar, Ribera, Carreras – but also introduces María Berdasco y Alejandro Vaquero.

The list also includes other nearly 20 professionals of the Can Ruti Campus: Antoni Bayés (IGTP), Pere Joan Cardona (IGTP), Bonaventura Clotet (Foundation for the Fight Against Infections & IrsiCaixa), Antoni Dávalos (IGTP), Victoria Delgado, (Hospital Germans Trias & CMCiB), Magí Farré, (IGTP), Carlos Ferrándiz (former Hospital Germans Trias), Miquel Àngel Gassull (former IGTP), Manel Monreal, (former Hospital Germans Trias), Manuel Perucho (former IGTP), Jordi Barretina (IGTP), Jaume Canet (former Hospital Germans Trias), José Manuel Carrascosa (Hospital Germans Trias), Josep Maria Llibre (Hospital Germans Trias & Foundation for the Fight Against Infections), Josep Lupón (Hospital Germans Trias), Oriol Mitjà (Hospital Germans Trias & Foundation for the Fight Against Infections), and Roger Paredes (Hospital Germans Trias, IrsiCaixa & Foundation for the Fight Against Infections).
