On 27 February, the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute Auditorium hosted the first edition of the Sons i Batecs Solidarity Music Festival, a solidarity event to raise funds for the Can Ruti Campus Hospital at Home Unit.

Sons i Batecs was organised by Amics de Can Ruti, the Germans Trias Hospital, the Germans Trias i Pujol Research Institute (IGTP) and the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, with the support of Laduna Blava and Direxis Tusgsal, and the collaboration of Supermercats Consum, Solventum, Flors Anglès and Masimo.

A hundred people enjoyed a special evening with performances of classical and contemporary music. Some of the guest artists were also members of the Germans Trias Hospital healthcare team: Eulàlia Ara, accompanied by the pianist Josep Maria Escribano; Júlia Farrés-Llongueras, accompanied by the pianist Álvaro Metzger; Pablo González, accompanied by the pianist Alba Ventura; as well as Arnau Arguimbau Alemany, Albert Gàmez and Mouna Halhoul.

The funds raised will go to the Hospital at Home Unit of the Germans Trias Hospital, one of the pioneers of the Catalan Health Institute. Created in February 2001, it is now one of the leading units in Catalonia.

The Hospital at Home (known by HAD) is a type of hospital admission in which patients receive at home the same medical and nursing care they would receive in hospital, but in the comfort of their own home. This system not only improves the patient's quality of life, as they can be treated at home surrounded by their families, but also reduces the risk of hospital-acquired infections and avoids unnecessary travel for family members. The unit currently cares for more than 70 patients at home, from newborns to the elderly.

Amics de Can Ruti thanks all the people who attended the 1st edition of the Solidarity Music Festival Sons i Batecs, as well as those who collaborated with the row 0 ticket, sponsors, collaborators and volunteers. Thanks to their support, the Hospital at Home Unit is closer to achieving its goal for 2025: to increase the number of virtual beds and continue to improve the quality of care at the unit.
