Dr Joaquim Grego-Bessa earned his BS and MS in Biology from the University of Barcelona. He earned his PhD unveiling genetic and cellular mechanisms regulating cardiac valve and ventricular development in mice. Joaquim joined the Sloan Kettering Institute in New York where he contributed to understanding the genetic regulation of neural tube closure. After returning to Spain as a lead research scientist, he developed several projects in murine cardiac development at CNIC, Madrid.
