HIGH SCHOOL VISITS TO THE JOSEP CARRERAS LEUKAEMIA RESEARCH INSTITUTE

InstiCIENCIA is an initiative promoted by the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, to bring the reality of a research center closer to the classrooms. Each course, nearly 500 students live the experience of participating in our scientific activity for a day!

With the InstiCIENCIA Program we want to the make a difference every year:

  • Put scientific dissemination on the spotlight. Bring research activity closer to students at one of the key moments of their academic career: high school and vocational training courses.
  • Promote scientific careers. Help identify the professional interests of students, awakening their scientific curiosity.
  • Help teachers. We adapt the explanations to the official syllabus, so that the visit integrates the curricular concepts into a real professional context.

How are we going to promote knowledge, interest and participation in science among students? Well, by establishing direct contact between researchers and students! The hallmark of the InstiCIENCIA Program is that not only opens the doors of the laboratories of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute, but the visit is guided by active research staff of the Institute, who will be happy to answer any questions you may have!

The visits last approximately for two hours and consist of:

  • Visit to the IJC facilities (laboratories and scientific-technical areas).
  • Practical research experience (manipulative workshop guided by in-house researchers).
  • Space for debate on the role of biomedical research and the research activity carried out at the IJC, in which students will be able to establish a dialogue with researchers, deepening their knowledge of the scientific career.

If you want to come to the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute and spend a morning immersed into science, it is very easy: just fill in the following form and as soon as registration opens we will send you the instructions on how to access the booking system:
