Pathogenic mechanisms associated with aneuploidy in childhood B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia: new insights into biology and therapeutic options.

Our work seeks to decipher how aneuploidy, the most frequent genomic abnormality in childhood B-cell acute lymphoblastic leukemia, arise in early hematopoietic stem/progenitor cells, how leukemic cells adapt to the numerous cellular stresses imposed by it and how aneuploidy and the associated chromosomal instability (CIN) contribute to leukemogenesis. To do so, we use a broad range of cell biology, molecular biology, -omics methods and patient-derived xenograft (PDX) mice models. Our final goal is to identify novel therapeutic targets involved in aneuploidy and CIN tolerance in childhood B-ALL, considered to play key roles in cancer progression.
