Biography


Born in Barcelona, in 1965. Dr Oriol studied Medicine at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona until1989 and specialized in Hematology at the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital from 1991 to 1994. He obtained a degree in Statistics in 1997 and a Master in Methodology for Life Sciences and Medicine in 1998 at the Autonomous Barcelona University. He obtained his PhD in the Biochemistry and Molecular Biology Department of the same University in 2012.Since 2006 his research focused in early and advanced phase multiple myeloma clinical trials and has contributed to over 100 peer-reviewed articles and reviews in multiple myeloma and acute leukemia. He is a member and secretary of the Spanish PETHEMA and GEM groups. Since 2013 he is the coordinator of the clinical trial unit of the Institut Català d’Oncologia in Hospital Germans Trias i Pujol and the Clinical Research Support Unit in the Badalona location of the Josep Carreras Institute.
