Unidad de Proteómica
Introducción
The Proteomics unit of the Josep Carreras Leukemia Research Institute has been created to support the scientific community offering mass spectrometry services to academic and private sector.
In addition, our unit is part of the technological platforms that belong to the Carlos III Health Institute and the Proteomics Network platform (ProteoRed).
One of the main objectives of the unit is to offer a high-quality service in the following disciplines: descriptive proteomics, quantitative proteomics (SILAC, TMT, Label Free), biomarker identification across major human diseases, protein characterization and identification of post-translational modifications (phospho and phospho-enrichment, Acetyl and Acetyl-enrichment, ADP-ribosylation), identification and quantification of protein-protein interactions and identification and further biological validation of bioactive peptides with potential applications in human health care including food supplements and cosmetics, among others.
The proteomics unit, in an effort to implement the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute philosophy, is working to promote the incorporation of proteomics as a necessary tool for the development of clinical and basic projects in our center. In this line, the implementation of state-of-the-art services allow both clinical and basic researchers to apply these tools to personalized medicine.
