The Cancer Immunogenomics group, led by Dr. Eduard Porta-Pardo, offers a fully-funded PhD position for 4 years to work in the analysis of single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data from tumor samples. Our group integrates genetic and cellular information to understand how the immune system and cancer cells interact with each other. We are located in the brand-new building of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC), a top research institute in the Barcelona area and a highly stimulating scientific environment.
We are looking for a PhD student to analyse single-cell and spatial transcriptomics data from tumor samples. The project will be done in the context of the 10x Genomics Clinical Translational Research Network, an international network of researchers using spatial transcriptomics to study human diseases. The project requires strong computational skills as well as a good background in biology. Excellent communication skills, creative thinking and fluent English are a prerequisite.
Who we are?
Our mission is to carry out research into the basic, epidemiological, preventive, clinical and translational aspects of leukaemia and other hematologic malignancies.
The vision of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute is that research will identify new therapeutic targets and enable us to develop more precise and less aggressive treatments. We aspire to understand the origin and development of leukaemia and other malignant haematological pathologies in order to be able to prevent them. We will work for a future in which all leukaemias will be curable.
The European Commission awarded the IJC the HR Excellence seal in July 2019. The IJC continues to work to maintain its policies in line with the Charter and Code principles.
