- Previous research experience in handling immune cells
- Previous research experience in cell cultures under BSL2
- Experience in flow cytometry and cell separation methods

A PhD position is available in the Epigenetics and immune disease Group led by Dr Esteban Ballestar. Research in our group focuses on understanding the mechanisms underlying the deposition and removal of epigenetic modifications in immune cells, the influence of genetic and environmental determinants, and the acquisition of defects in the context of immune-related disease including primary immunodeficiencies, autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases. We also investigate the impact of the epigenetic regulation of immune cells in the microtumour environment.

Who we are?
Our mission is to carry out research into the basic, epidemiological, preventive, clinical and translational aspects of leukaemia and other hematologic malignancies.
The vision of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute is that research will identify new therapeutic targets and enable us to develop more precise and less aggressive treatments. We aspire to understand the origin and development of leukaemia and other malignant haematological pathologies in order to be able to prevent them. We will work for a future in which all leukaemias will be curable.
