The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a nonprofit research institute based in Barcelona and dedicated to advancing our understanding about leukaemia and related disorders, in partnership with the University of Barcelona and University Autònoma of Barcelona. The IJC has laboratories in three clinical campuses: i) Clinic Hospital, ii) Sant Pau Hospital and iii) Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital. IJC serves as a collaborative hub for basic investigators and physicians to work together on fundamental biological and clinical aspects of leukaemia. Research Description
We are seeking a highly motivated research to become Lab Technician (LT) in our group to start a new project on COVID-19 in relation to immune response using single cell epigenomic approaches. The title of the project is "Cell Atlas of COVID-19 patients with Pre-existing Autoimmunity and Immunodeficiency conditions" and the LT will be responsible for starting within the team of Dr. Ballestar this project (https://www.carrerasresearch.org/en/epigenetics-and-immune-disease_124402). Main tasks will involve isolation of blood cells from COVID-19 patient samples, cytometry analysis and follow up epigenomic analyses.
We expect the applicant to have experience with the handling of human blood samples, work in Biosafety Level-3 (P3) Cell Culture Facilities and familiarity with bioinformatic analysis.
