What we need

  • Bachelor’s Degree. Master and/or PhD degree in Biomedical sciences will be positively valued.
  • Minimum +5 years of work experience in building international consortia and research networks within the health area, promotion and lobbying activities.  
  • Minimum +3 years of work experience in International Project Management (proposal writing and presentation) within the health area (EC FP7, H2020, Horizon Europe, USA NIH, etc.).
  • Knowledge of the research policies of the European Research Area.
  • Business oriented dynamic person with demonstrated capacity to raise funds.
  • Proficiency level in English; fluency in other languages will be a plus.
  • Desirable competences: ability to work under deadlines, communication and proven leading negotiation, Team management, objective, and customer-oriented skills; high performance capacity, outstanding listening, and planning skills.
  • Will be advantageous: Portfolio of international contacts in academia, private sector, and the European research decision bodies; knowledge of public and private research founding systems and previous experience working with international collaborators in health field.

Main Responsibilities

  • Identification and promotion of international research funding programmes of interest for the institute.
  • External promotion of the research of the institute, participation in international research forums, international networks and decision bodies to increase the participation of the institute in international consortia and search for partners for the proposals in development.
  • Expected to travel 50% of the time. Possibility to be allocated part time in Brussels.
  • Support in the preparation of proposals (consortium building, work plan definition, proposal writing, etc.), direct contact with EU/International officers.
  • Participation in another transversal task of the unit when required.

The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is a non-profit research institute based in Barcelona and dedicated to advancing our understanding about leukaemia and related disorders, in partnership with the University of Barcelona and University Autònoma of Barcelona. The IJC has laboratories in three clinical campuses: i) Clinic Hospital, ii) Sant Pau Hospital and iii) Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital. IJC serves as a collaborative hub for basic investigators and physicians to work together on fundamental biological and clinical aspects of leukaemia. The IJC offers an excellent work environment built around a multi-disciplinary fusion of ideas and state-of-the-art facilities.

The Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute (IJC) is looking for an International Senior/Promoter Project Manager to increase international cooperation at the institute.

Position aim is to increase international cooperation by valuing the success of existing collaborations, consolidating, and taking advantage of the network of collaborations that connects the institute with its European partners, as well as facilitating new alliances and opportunities. of participation in international collaborative projects.

Our mission is to carry out research into the basic, epidemiological, preventive, clinical and translational aspects of leukaemia and other hematologic malignancies.

The vision of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute is that research will identify new therapeutic targets and enable us to develop more precise and less aggressive treatments.  We aspire to understand the origin and development of leukaemia and other malignant haematological pathologies in order to be able to prevent them.  We will work for a future in which all leukaemias will be curable.
