Coordinador Campus Clínic-UB - Prof. Álvaro Urbano
Prof. Urbano trained as a specialist in Hematology and Hemotherapeutics in the Clinic Hospital in Barcelona, where he also received his doctorate for which he was awarded a distinction in 1989.He was a senior consultant in the same hospital until 2007, when he was became Head of the Hematology Service at the Saint Mary Rocio Hospital in Seville. Since March 2010 he has been the Director of the Institute of Hematology and Oncology and Professor of Medicine at the Clinic Hospital in Barcelona.
His scientific career started in 1990 and he has published more than 155 papers with a total impact factor of over 500. His papers have over 2,000 citations.
Coordinador Campus ICO-GTiP - Prof. Evarist Feliu
Prof. Feliu joined the Germans Trias i Pujol Hospital as Head of the Hematology Service in 1991 from the Hematology Service in the Clinic Hospital in Barcelona, where he had worked for 20 years under the direction of Professors Rozman and Vives-Corrons. He has been a center director and scientific director at the Catalan Institute of Oncology (ICO), where he is currently Director of the University Relations Program and Head of the Hematology Laboratory Service.
Since 2008 he has been a lecturer in Medicine at the Autonomous University of Barcelona. He is Vice-President, Trustee and Scientific Director for the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Foundation and President of the Executive Committee of the Josep Carreras Leukaemia Research Institute.
Prof. Feliu has published more than 300 papers in national and international journals, with an overall impact factor of more than 700, with more than 2,100 citations.
Coordinador Campus Sant Pau - Prof. Jordi Sierra
Prof. Sierra joined the Hematology Service of the Clinic Hospital in 1985 as a senior doctor and specialist. During 1995 and 1996 he completed his training at the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle, USA. Since 1997 he has directed the Hematology and Hematopoietic Transplant Service at the Sant Pau Hospital in Barcelona. Since 2006 he is also a lecturer at the Autonomous University of Barcelona.
Prof Sierra is an editor for the New England Journal of Medicine and has published more than 250 papers, with a total impact factor of more than 1,200 and he has led more than 20 research projects funded by competitive grants.
